Celestial Resonance Exhibit

about the exhibit

Art, at its core, can be a prayer—a quiet invocation, an intentional vibration that resonates beyond what we see and touch.

Celestial Resonance combines art, sound, and intention to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Each hand-drawn line, watercolor layer, and digital collage is crafted with reverence while gilding and beading add radiant detail. Interwoven with carefully selected frequencies, these elements invite you to explore art not just as a visual encounter but as a space for meditation, healing, and deeper connection with the world around you.

My belief in art as a powerful means of transformation resonates deeply with my own path. For many years, I have dedicated myself to arts administration at Art Center East, supporting countless other creatives but forgetting that I, too, am an artist. Celestial Resonance marks my first comprehensive body of work since 2013—a deeply personal homecoming. In creating this exhibit, I confronted the inner dialogue that questioned my worthiness to share my work. This collection is a testament to reclaiming my identity as an artist, sparked by the sheer joy and wonder of creation. Every artwork reflects a commitment and a prayer to embracing oneself and finding the courage to follow a creative calling.

Central to this homecoming is the idea that prayer, in any form, can serve as the heartbeat of creation. Prayer, in this context, is not religious dogma; it is the act of setting a clear intention and opening oneself to connection. Each hand-drawn line, bead placed, and brushstroke represents a heartfelt breath; every application of metal leaf embodies a conscious, intentional presence. These mandalas are meant to be vessels of reflection—ones that invite you to pause, breathe, and consider the expansive possibilities of our shared universe. Whether you identify with a spiritual path or a secular worldview, Celestial Resonance seeks to resonate with the intrinsic, creative pulse within all of us.

Extending this concept of prayerful creation, my background in sound therapy and as a crystal practitioner brings deeper layers of vibration and energetic alignment to the work. Each piece in Celestial Resonance —whether drawn, painted, gilded, or beaded—was crafted alongside a specific frequency in hertz, carefully chosen to harmonize with its intended energy. Vocal and instrumental performances form the backbone of these sonic explorations, translating intangible vibrations into an audible experience. Crystals, stones, and fossils—each with unique oscillatory rates that exceed human frequencies—naturally align and uplift our energetic fields. In the exhibit, they serve as both physical and energetic anchors, reflecting my belief in the Earth’s innate power to heal and connect.

Continuing this exploration of energetic form, I delve deeper into the realm of cymatics (the visual representation of sound vibrations) in one key series on display. Digital collages crafted from watercolor elements I originally painted with mineral pigments derived from soil, stones, and crystal include these cymatic patterns. Featured are the seven main Chakras, the water molecule, and AUM (OM)—often called the primordial sound of the universe. By blending these raw mineral pigments with modern digital techniques, I hope to provoke curiosity: can the vibrational essence of these mineral-based paints remain palpable in printed form? As everything is energy, I believe these works retain the Earth’s frequencies, inviting you to feel rather than simply view.

To deepen and personalize this vibrational journey, I have integrated a multisensory component. Visitors are invited to wear the headphones provided and listen to the foundational frequencies for each piece, tuning out the ambient sound of the gallery and engaging with the art on a deeply intuitive level. Up to ten people can enjoy this feature simultaneously, transforming the exhibit into a multisensory sight and sound experience. A recorded artist talk will also be available after the opening reception, offering personal reflections on the inspirations and processes behind creating this work. For those who cannot attend in person, a sound journey will be released once per week to accompany an online virtual tour at artcentereast.org.

In tandem with sonic frequency, I also look to broader cosmic patterns to shape each piece. Numbers, astrological cycles, and planetary frequencies thread through this exhibit like invisible currents, guiding each composition’s structure. Astrology and numerology are less about prediction and more about presence and perceiving the rhythms that govern our lives. By embedding these cycles into my art—through linework, arrangement, and visual motifs—I invite you to sense the universal harmonies that underpin our everyday experiences. This sense of rhythm also connects deeply to the auditory elements of the exhibit, where sound bridges these ideas with tangible experience.

Carrying these invisible currents into physical expression, I carefully chose materials and methods that resonate with their transformative energy. Throughout the exhibit, you will notice glimmers of gold, silver, and copper leaf applied meticulously by hand. This metal leaf symbolizes alchemy’s promise: transforming the mundane into the extraordinary. Gold, reflecting solar energy, evokes divine illumination; silver, tied to lunar rhythms, embraces intuition and fluidity; copper, a conductor of energy, grounds, and balances. By hand-gilding each element, I emphasize that we, too, can evolve from base states to elevated heights when guided by purpose and awareness.

By uniting these physical symbols of alchemy with the resonance of sound, these layers of creation culminate in an invitation for collective reflection and connection. Celestial Resonance is an invitation—to step into a space where art, science, sound, and spirit unite. It is my prayer for greater connection: to the Earth, to each other, and to the limitless wellspring of creative energy that underlies our world. May these works encourage you to pause, recalibrate your own frequency, and remember the profound beauty and vibrational potential we each carry within.

Planetary Series

Planetary archetypes have captivated humanity for millennia, weaving together mythic storytelling, metaphysical inquiry, and scientific frontiers. In this series, each planet is drawn as an act of meditation, then adorned with metal leaf and beadwork—materials selected to hold and transmit energetic frequencies aligned with its archetypal essence. Each planetary mandala incorporates sacred geometry, numerology, and orbit patterns, creating a multi‐layered composition that reflects cosmic order and artistic precision. From Mars’s assertive drive to Jupiter’s expansive insight, these celestial bodies represent more than mere cosmic phenomena, offering profound reflections on personal and collective journeys. The beads, grounded in the principles of physics, serve as conduits of resonance by channeling each planet’s energy through crystalline structure. By suggesting complementary cosmic frequencies, this work invites engagement on both intuitive and analytical levels. Ultimately, these pieces open a window onto an ancient dialogue between humanity and the cosmos, reminding us that we belong to both Earth and the stars—balancing reason with reverence, curiosity with spirituality, and the tangible with the transcendent.

Copper Veneer Frames

I selected copper veneer frames, some featuring a patina, for this exhibit because copper is revered for its powerful metaphysical properties. Traditionally celebrated for its ability to amplify energy, I trust that these frames enhance the metals, crystals, and stones within each mandala and the underlying intentions of every piece. In doing so, they become an integral and resonant complement to the art.

Chakra Cymatics Series:

An Exploration of Resonance, Energy, and Form

Cymatics is the study of visible sound vibration—an inquiry into how sound waves shape matter and geometry. By placing sand, water, or other substances atop a vibrating surface, one can observe intricate, often sacred‐looking patterns that mirror the harmonic structure of the underlying frequency. These fascinating patterns emerge from vibration itself, providing a tangible glimpse into the power of sound to generate form.

Within Vedic traditions, chakras are conceptualized as energy centers in the subtle body—gateways through which life force (or prana) flows. Each chakra resonates with different qualities, from foundational stability in the Root Chakra to transcendent consciousness in the Crown.

In alignment with those teachings, physics has demonstrated that certain vibrations and minerals correspond to distinct energetic frequencies, suggesting a synergy between the material and the metaphysical.

In creating each piece of the Chakra Cymatics Series within Celestial Resonance, I began by meticulously hand‐drawing the cymatic pattern that reflects the unique frequency assigned to a particular chakra. These outlines became the groundwork for a watercolor painted with pigment derived from soil and minerals (crystals and stones) that have been connected—through various scientific and traditional means—to that same energetic center. The watercolor compositions, embodying the essence and symbolism of each chakra when balanced, were then digitally collaged to unify the intricate geometry and vibrant color. After printing, I selected crystal and stone beads correlated to the frequency and properties of that chakra, weaving these stones and crystals into the final piece. The result is a multi‐layered expression that merges science, art, and spiritual tradition: a visual and tactile interface between the seen and unseen realms of vibration, and a testament to the powerful resonance that underlies all living systems.
